Come Ride With Us

GPC logo

Welcome! Grizzly Peak Cyclists is a bicycle club of about 500 members based in Berkeley, California.

We have club rides every weekend throughout the year, and many weekdays too. Roughly half our rides are in the East Bay; the rest are all over the San Francisco Bay Area, and beyond. Our ride calendar is on this website and in our newsletter. Our members' riding interests run the gamut. We have novices, intermediates, advanceds, and everything in between. Our rides are correspondingly diverse.

Come ride with us. Each ride is rated to indicate the expected terrain, pace, and distance, so you can choose a ride suited to your abilities. Be sure to review our rider guidelines before your first ride to avoid any surprises. Due to the current pandemic, our group rides are limited to club members and require advance sign-up per our COVID-19 protocol. Not a member? Join now!

Grizzly Peak Century

We have hosted the annual Grizzly Peak Century since 1975. The event is known for its challenging but beautiful terrain and gourmet home-made food. Due to COVID-19 we were forced to cancel the 2020 GPC Century and we are currently considering options for 2021. For more information, click on the button above to see our century website.

Every year, we make significant donations out of the proceeds raised from our Grizzly Peak Century to organizations and causes that promote or help bicycling in some way — be it advocacy, safety, education, awareness, or the bicycling environment. See our donations page for details.

Hear From Our Members

As the pandemic has limited our cycling and social activities, staying connected is especially important. We’re starting a series where members can share their thoughts on cycling topics. The initial theme is “Why I Ride”. Checkout the latest submission.

Groups Rides have Resumed

With a majority of respondents to our member interest survey indicating an interest in club rides, and with state and local Shelter-In-Place orders easing restrictions on outdoor and group activities, the board has voted to resume club rides, with new restrictions. Read our Group Ride COVID-19 Protocol. Ride leaders are now welcome to post rides.

Water and Restrooms Map

Many Bay Area jurisdictions have turned off drinking fountains and/or closed public restrooms as part of their Covid prevention measures. See this Google Map for current status of many facilities in our riding areas. The map was developed by the Western Wheelers Bicycle Club. To contribute to the map, send your observations to .
